Suppliers

I'd like to share a little love with the businesses necessary for supplying the materials that bring my products to life. I work closely with each and highly recommend them if you're in need of similar services.

Image Works | Dearborn, MI

  • This wonderful team is responsible for capturing and printing the likeness of my original paintings.

CraftCuts | Meridian, ID

  • This company is my go-to for both basic and custom-cut shapes. Normally, I stick to wood for my projects; but they actually have a couple options for materials, including aluminum and acrylic.

Materials List

If you enjoy making art and are in the market for some new supplies, I have compiled this list just for you.

Drawing

  • Strathmore: Smooth Bristol Board and Artagain Drawing Paper (Coal Black)

  • Grafix: Matte Dura-Lar

Note: You can paint on Matte Dura-Lar with acrylic paint, but I don't recommend using watercolors. I have tried watercolor and, at first, it'll look fine; but over time the watercolor can crack. I have not attempted using oil paints.

  • Staedtler: 0.3 Mechanical Pencils

  • Pentel: 0.2 HB and 0.2 2B / 0.3 HB / 0.5 HB Mechanical Pencils and Lead

  • Faber-Castell: Pastel Pencils (White/Black)

  • Krylon or Golden Spray Archival Satin Finishes

Note: These work fine on drawings done on paper, but I'm personally not a fan of how they look on the Matte Dura-Lar.

Painting

  • Ampersand: Aquabord or Pastelbord (White/Grey/Brown)

  • Strathmore: Smooth Bristol Board

  • Legion: Stonehenge Aqua Coldpress (Black)

  • Derwent: Watercolor Pencils and Inktense Pencils

  • Faber-Castell: Pastel Pencils (White/Black)

  • Windsor and Newton: Cotman Watercolor Brushes Round 0000, 2, 4, 6, 10

  • Jacquard: Dorland's Wax Medium

Note: I have used this wax medium to seal watercolor paintings and watercolor paintings with minimal pastel or ink use. It makes the painting appear as though the watercolor is still wet; increasing the contrast and brightening the colors. You can also use oil paint atop the wax, which is great if you need to bring some highlights back to your piece. I will seal any oil paint in another coat of wax.

  • Silicone Spatuala
